A petition has been launched on asking President Obama and company to light up the exterior of the White House with the colors of the transgender pride flag on Transgender Day of Remembrance , which is marked annually on Nov. 20 around the world to remember trans people who were victims of violent transphobic acts.

As the petition points out, the White House has been lit up on different occasions with the colors of various causes.

Says the petition: “Annually the White House is lit up pink to support breast cancer awareness. The fountains have been dyed green for St. Patrick’s Day. On Friday June 26th the White House was lit up in the LGBT Pride flag colors to celebrate the historic victory of national marriage rights for the community. On the same day, the White House Twitter avatar was changed to also be rainbow colored.”

So, why not for TDoR, yes?

I bet this petition will be successful.
