QUEBEC — Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has made a smart defensive play: He has rescinded his $10,000 donation to a group trying to repeal protections for LGBT people in Houston.

The move follows a predictable outcry when his donation was first trumpeted by the organization with something along the lines of “See, even Bob thinks men in dresses shouldn’t be allowed to use the women’s bathroom!”

Critics wondered if the move might cost Houston the NFL Super Bowl game in 2017 and be a catalyst in driving other commercial enterprises away from the city.

Now Mr. McNair is saying that the organization made “unauthorized” statements about his beliefs, and he wants his $10K back. To which they have agreed.

You can read an Associated Press article about it all here.
